• You don’t need an account. Your private chat is linked to an anonymous identity in your browser.

What Eleli Is, and What Is Active Today

Eleli is an AI relationship communication service for adults. It is not therapy, counseling or medical care. Eleli’s features are being introduced in stages: the chat may run as a preview that stores nothing, as a private chat that stores your messages without replying, or as the working chat in which Eleli replies. This policy describes what happens when the private chat is active, and says where something applies only once AI replies are switched on.

Your Anonymous Identity

When you confirm the notice on the chat page, Eleli creates an anonymous identity for your browser: a random identifier, with no name, email address or phone number. A cookie in your browser keeps you connected to it. The identity doesn’t tell us who you are, but what you do in Eleli from that browser is linked to it. If you clear your cookies or use another browser, you start with a new identity and can’t return to the old one.

When you open the chat in a browser that doesn’t have an identity yet, Eleli uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not an automated program, is about to start a session. The check runs as soon as the notice is shown, whether or not you continue, and no identity can be created without it. Turnstile processes technical information about your browser and connection, such as your IP address, to make that check. It isn’t used again once your browser has an identity.

What We Store

• Your confirmations: that you confirmed you are 18 or older and understand that Eleli is an AI and not a therapist or doctor, when you confirmed, and which version of that notice you saw.
• Your conversations: the messages you send to Eleli, kept in a conversation that belongs to your anonymous identity, and which conversation starter you picked, if any.
• Reply records: when AI replies are switched on, one record per reply Eleli produces or fails to produce: when it started and finished, whether it succeeded, which model was used, a failure category if it failed, and how many tokens the model processed. These records contain no message text.
• Activity and usage counts: when your identity was last active (used for deletion, below) and counts such as how many messages it has sent (used to keep the service working and to prevent abuse). These contain no message content.
• Technical records: when your browser starts or renews its session, our authentication provider records your IP address and browser type (user agent) with that session. Our hosting and database providers also keep logs of requests, which can include IP addresses.
• Aggregate statistics: anonymous tallies, such as how many conversations were started in an hour. They contain no identifier and no content, and can’t be linked back to you.

We don’t ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we don’t collect payment information.

Private by Default

Your conversations belong to your anonymous identity. Only that identity, which in practice means your browser, can read them. They are never public and never shown to other Eleli users, including a partner, and Eleli has no feature for sharing them. Access rules in our database enforce this on every request.

No Memory Across Conversations

Each conversation stands on its own. Eleli doesn’t build a lasting profile of you or carry what you said in one conversation into another. If we add a memory feature, nothing will be remembered across conversations without your explicit approval.

AI Processing

Eleli’s replies are generated by an AI model. When AI replies are switched on, each time you send a message, the messages of your current conversation (your messages and Eleli’s replies, up to a configured limit, and never other conversations) are sent, together with Eleli’s instructions, to our AI model provider, OpenRouter, which forwards them to the model vendor it routes the request to. The reply comes back the same way and is stored in your conversation.

Those requests carry no identifier of you, no IP address and no account data: they come from our server, not from your browser. We keep operational records about each reply (see “Reply records” above) without its text.

Until AI replies are switched on, no message is sent to any AI model provider.

How Long We Keep Data

If your anonymous identity has no recorded activity for 14 days, it is deleted automatically, together with everything linked to it: your confirmations, conversations, messages, usage counts and session records. Activity means confirming the notice, sending a message, or opening Eleli’s chat in that browser. Visits are recorded at most about once an hour, so the last recorded activity can be up to an hour before your last visit. Deletion runs once a day, so data is deleted between 14 and 15 days after the last recorded activity. Aggregate statistics, which can’t identify you, are kept.

Deletion

Deletion is permanent. When a conversation is deleted, its messages are deleted with it. When an anonymous identity is deleted, everything linked to it is deleted and can’t be recovered.

Because your identity is anonymous, we can’t look you up by name or email. Clearing your browser’s cookies disconnects you from your identity at once; the identity and its data are then deleted automatically, 14 to 15 days after its last recorded activity.

Service Providers

• Supabase: database and authentication, hosted in the United States.
• Vercel: website hosting, page-view analytics and performance measurement.
• Cloudflare: Turnstile bot protection on the chat page, for browsers without an identity.
• OpenRouter: AI model routing, only when AI replies are switched on. The text of your current conversation is processed by OpenRouter and by the model vendor it routes the request to.

We don’t sell or rent your data, we don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Cookies & Analytics

Eleli sets a cookie that keeps your browser connected to your anonymous identity; the private chat needs it to work. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is stored with our database provider, which encrypts it at rest. Database access rules limit every request to the requesting identity’s own data.

Children’s Privacy

Eleli is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
